A popular hacktivist group ‘Anonymous’ is calling for a nation-wide protest against Indian government's increasingly restrictive regulation of the Internet. ‘Save Your Voice’ and other alliance of concerned citizens and activist hackers will support Anonymous on the streets and the Internet itself to make their opposition felt. Please join hands by reaching at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi at 4PM on Saturday, June 9.
Save Your Voice has earlier raised its voice against internet censorship in India. The online and the street campaigns of the group have attained a huge public support and a debate has been started in the national media and on the other online and social platforms. Through our ‘National Tour’ we brought the internet activist at a single platform of Save Your Voice. On the April 1, our ‘Sibal’s Day’ celebration got the international media attention where as the ‘Disability Parade’ was another form of a creative protest of Save Your Voice. ‘Freedom in the Cage’ was a protest where artists and activists reached to symbolize that after the flawed IT Rules came into the effect our freedom of freedom of speech is behind the bars. To support the annulment motion on the IT Rules our team members Alok Dixit and Aseem Trivedi sit on a 7 days long hunger strike, ‘Freedom Fast’ we say in our terminology, a popular event of Save Your Voice.
About ‘Save Your Voice’
Save your voice is a campaign to save the freedom of internet, to hoard the freedom of speech, to raise our voices for a strong democracy and for our better future. It is a movement initiated, so that we can speak truth; express our thoughts without any trepidation to keep our points in front of the Government which is practicing dictatorship by restricting the common man’s voice.
